Label Me Love

Labels are not for me.
But if you must label me—
Label me human,
For I was born human.

I was not born Indian or American,
Not rich or poor,
Not Christian or Buddhist,
Not smart or stupid,
Not pretty or ugly,
Not a scientist or a yogi,
Not perfect or imperfect.

So please—don’t label me.

With labels come hatred,
And hatred stirs up division.

Labels are not for me.
But if you must label me—
Above all, label me Love,
Because I see you in me,
And myself in you.

Labels are not for me.
But if you must label me,
Label me Love,
Because Love covers all wrongs.
